James C. Bush, MPA, CAE
Education and Professional Designations
Mr. Bush holds a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Technology from Central Michigan University and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Western Michigan University. Additionally, he holds the CAE (Certified Assessment Evaluator) professional designation from the International Association of Assessing Officers.
Public Sector Work Experience
He has a 27-year career working in local government finance, budgeting, and real and personal property tax assessment administration. He would facilitate local property tax appeals all the way through to the state level providing all necessary litigation support activities. He has also worked as a state-level property tax appeal hearing officer for the State of Kansas.
Private Sector Work Experience
Aside from his public sector work experience Jim has worked 12 years as a state and local tax (SALT) consultant for two “Big Six” major public accounting firms based in New York City specializing in cost containment initiatives, exposure mitigation, industrial revenue bond/tax abatement processing, tax incentives, tax incremental finance (TIF) project and boundary design, and commercial and industrial property physical prospective site locations for major corporate properties located nationwide.
After visiting the Hobe Sound area frequently during the past seven years, Jim retired from Michigan two years ago and is now a full time resident of Martin County. He had had previously lived in Kansas City and New York City.
