withamOctober 12, 2013--The proposed Customs and Border Patrol facility for Witham Field has raised some controversy over the cost to build, staff and maintain the facility. Some argue that only a small percentage of the County population will use the facility and those would primarily be wealthier residents who can afford to pay their own way. Based on these contentions, the MCTA has decided to conduct its own review.

stLucieSeptember 7, 2013--Like the rest of Martin County, and especially those along the Indian River Lagoon and the St. Lucie Estuary, the Martin County Taxpayers Association is frustrated over the emergency discharges into our rivers.  We fully understand the complexities and limitations of the problem, and accept the fact that no one, or collective group of agencies, wants to damage our environment and all are more than just concerned about the potential for long term damage to our economy.
