Software Engineer, Digital Equipment Corporation

• I implemented a portion of the VAX/VMS instruction set in microcode used in the VAX 8600 series computers. I was given the portion of the instruction set to implement. We used a large microword. I worked with the chip designers to develop microcode with the shortest number of cycles. Once written, I tested the code with software written by other teams at DEC. Microcode was written in a DEC proprietary language.
